PREGNANCY AND INFANT LOSS REMEMBRANCE DAY

Pregnancy and Infant Loss Remembrance Day was observed at Mahe Co-operative College of Teacher Education on 15th October. The event aimed to raise awareness and foster compassionate conversations surrounding the often unspoken experiences of pregnancy loss and infant death.

The program included a talk delivered by Vyshnavi V, who addressed the emotional, psychological, and societal impacts of pregnancy and infant loss. Through her speech, Vyshnavi emphasized the importance of acknowledging grief, offering support to affected families, and breaking the silence that often surrounds such losses.

The event was visually represented with a touching poster featuring symbolic imagery — a baby wrapped in butterfly patterns, representing remembrance, love, and the fleeting presence of life. The presence of footprints and hearts added emotional depth, reinforcing the day’s theme.

The observance served as a meaningful opportunity for the college community to come together in remembrance and reflection. It highlighted the importance of empathy, support systems, and awareness in handling such sensitive topics.

The program concluded with a moment of silence to honor all the lives lost and the families affected, reinforcing the message of remembrance and healing.
