World Postal Day

WORLD POSTAL DAY

The Department of Social Science at MAHE Co-operative College of Teacher Education proudly observed World Postal Day on October 9 to commemorate the invaluable contributions of the postal system to global communication and connectivity.
This year’s celebration marked 150 years of the Universal Postal Union (UPU), emphasizing the theme:
“150 Years of Enabling Communication and Empowering Peoples Across Nations.”
The event was highlighted by an inspiring speech delivered by Anamika C.K., shedding light on the historical significance and ongoing relevance of the postal service in an increasingly digital world. Her speech emphasized the role of postal services in uniting people, bridging distances, and supporting socio-economic development across the globe.
The program included a visual presentation reflecting the evolution and impact of the global postal network. The symbolic representation in the poster showcased human figures symbolizing unity, movement, and the global reach of communication.
Overall, the celebration served to instill awareness among students about the importance of postal services and honored the legacy of the UPU in promoting international cooperation and communication.
