The IQAC of Mahe Co-operative College of Teacher Education, Mahe, in association with GHSS Kallachi, organized an Awareness Session on “Managing Screen Time” on October 13th (Monday) at 2:00 pm.
The session aimed to create awareness among students about the importance of balancing their screen usage in the digital era. The key messages of the programme — “Balance your day – manage screen time wisely” and “More living, less scrolling” — emphasized the need to use technology responsibly while maintaining a healthy lifestyle.
The resource person, Ms. Vismaya P K, a 2nd-year B.Ed. English student of MCCTE, effectively led the session. She discussed the negative impacts of excessive screen time on physical and mental health and suggested practical strategies to limit digital dependency. The session included interactive discussions and real-life examples, making it engaging and relatable for the audience.
The event was coordinated by Dr. Sreelatha K (Principal, MCCTE), Ms. Revathy M (Assistant Professor, MCCTE & IQAC co ordinator).and miss Sujithra( headmistress, GHSS Kallachi).
The programme concluded with positive feedback from the students ,who expressed that the session helped them become more aware about their digital habits and encouraged them to adopt a balanced approach to screen use. Overall the event was a great success in promoting mindful technology usage among students.
