MANAGING SCREEN TIME

  Managing Screen Time

The Internal Quality Assurance Cell (IQAC) of MAHE Co-operative College of Teacher Education, in association with Iringannur Higher Secondary School, organized an Awareness Programme on Managing Screen Time on 13th October 2025 at 3:30 p.m. at IHSS.The session was handled by Ms. Fathimath Hasna A.K, Second Year B.Ed. student of MCCTE, who served as the Resource Person. The aim of the session was to create awareness among students about the increasing usage of digital devices and to guide them on maintaining a healthy balance between screen time and other daily activities.

The resource person highlighted the adverse effects of excessive screen time, such as eye strain, sleep disturbance, reduced concentration, and lack of physical activity. She also suggested practical strategies for managing screen exposure, including setting time limits, taking regular breaks, following the 20-20-20 rule, engaging in outdoor activities, and prioritizing face-to-face interactions.

Interactive discussions were held where students shared their personal experiences and challenges in managing screen usage. The session helped them understand the importance of responsible and mindful use of technology in their daily life.

The programme was effectively coordinated by Dr. Sreelatha K (Principal, MCCTE), Ms. Revathy M (Assistant Professor, MCCTE), and Ms. Sindhu Jayaraj (Principal, IHSS).

Overall, the awareness session was informative and impactful, helping students develop awareness of the need for digital discipline and healthy lifestyle habits.
