Program of Teaching about Local History and Landmarks
Kallachi: A meaningful educational session on "Local History and Landmarks" was
conducted at Government Higher Secondary School (GHSS) Kallachi on 13th October
2025 at 10:00 AM. The session was organized by the IQAC of Mahe Co-operative College
of Teacher Education, Mahe, in collaboration with
GHSS Kallachi. The aim of the session was to develop
awareness among students about the rich cultural
heritage, historical significance, and important
landmarks of their locality, thereby promoting a
sense of identity and pride in their roots. The
resource person for the session was Ms. Hafsath E.K,
a second-year B.Ed. student of MCCTE, Mahe. She
effectively engaged the students with visuals, stories,
and interesting facts related to local history and
significant sites around the region. The session
encouraged student participation and interaction, making it both informative and
enjoyable. The programme was coordinated under the guidance of Dr. Sreelatha K,
Principal of MCCTE, Mahe, who served as the General Coordinator. The IQAC
Coordinator of the college, Mrs. Revathy, Assistant Professor, ensured smooth planning
and implementation. The Programme Coordinator at the school was Mrs. Suchithra,
Headmistress of GHSS Kallachi, who provided all necessary support. The session was
well-received by students and teachers alike and served its purpose of building
curiosity and appreciation for local history. The program concluded with words of
gratitude and encouragement for more such initiatives.
