Teaching About Local History and Landmarks
A session on Local History and Landmarks was conducted by Anusree. A. K (English) on 07/10/2025 (Tuesday) at 3:15 pm in Govt. Higher Secondary School, Pattiam.
The objective of the session was to make students aware of the rich cultural and historical heritage of their locality. The class began with an introduction highlighting the importance of learning about one’s surroundings and preserving local heritage.
The teacher explained the history of significant landmarks in and around Pattiam, including historical buildings, temples, educational institutions, and monuments. Students were encouraged to share what they already knew about these places, creating an interactive and engaging learning environment.
Visual aids, pictures, and short stories related to the local area were used to make the lesson more interesting and relatable. The session helped students develop a sense of pride and belonging to their community and inspired them to take an active role
