The Internal Quality Assurance Cell (IQAC) of Mahe Co-operative College of Teacher Education, Mahe, in collaboration with GVHSS Koduvally, organised an awareness session on “Pocket Money Savings” on 21st October 2025 at 1:45 PM in the school auditorium.
The session aimed to create awareness among students about the importance of saving money and developing financial responsibility from a young age. The programme was inaugurated by the school principal, followed by a welcome address by the teacher co-ordinator, Mr. Prajeesh.
The resource person, Ms. Anjana Das, a second-year B.Ed. student from MCCTE, Mahe, led an interactive session that focused on the significance of proper utilisation of pocket money, simple saving habits, and prioritising needs over wants. She engaged the students with real-life examples and short activities to help them understand how disciplined spending can lead to meaningful savings.
The key message conveyed was the quote:
“Do not save what is left after spending; instead spend what is left after saving.”
The students actively participated, shared their experiences, and expressed their interest in adopting better saving habits in their daily lives. The programme concluded with a vote of thanks proposed by a student representative from GVHSS Koduvally.
