 Library Improvement Programme conducted

Kallachi: A Library Improvement Programme was conducted at Government Higher 

Secondary School, Kallachi on 10th October 2025 at 2:00 p.m. The programme was 

organized by the IQAC of Mahe Cooperative College of 

Teacher Education, Mahe, in association with GHSS Kallachi.

The main objective of the programme was to enhance the 

functioning and learning environment of the school library, 

making it more attractive, accessible, and student-friendly. 

The activity aimed to promote reading habits among 

students and to emphasize the importance of libraries as 

centers of knowledge and lifelong learning. The 

improvement activity was carried out by Ms. Hafsath E.K, a 

second-year B.Ed. student of MCCTE, Mahe. She actively 

participated in reorganizing and arranging the library 

resources, labeling the book sections, and improving the 

overall appearance of the library. Her contribution helped in 

creating a more systematic and welcoming space for 

students to explore books and develop a love for reading. The programme was conducted 

under the general coordination of Dr. Sreelatha K, Principal of MCCTE, Mahe, and the 

IQAC Coordinator, Mrs. Revathy, Assistant Professor of MCCTE, Mahe, who provided 

guidance and supervision throughout the activity. The programme coordinator was Mrs. 

Suchithra, Headmistress of GHSS Kallachi, who facilitated the arrangements and ensured 

smooth execution of the improvement work. The initiative was well appreciated by the 

school authorities and students. It served as a meaningful collaboration between the 

teacher education institution and the school, promoting the importance of library 

enrichment in fostering a culture of reading and learning
