Kallachi: An Awareness Programme on Energy Conservation was conducted at Government
Higher Secondary School (GHSS), Kallachi on 10th October 2025 at 2:00 p.m. The event was
organized by the IQAC) of Mahe Cooperative College
of Teacher Education, Mahe, in association with GHSS
Kallachi. The objective of the programme was to create
awareness among students about the importance of
energy conservation and to promote responsible
energy usage for a sustainable future. The session
emphasized the need to adopt eco-friendly practices
in daily life and the role of young learners in protecting
natural resources. The resource person for the session
was Ms. Hafsath E.K, a second-year B.Ed. student of
MCCTE, Mahe. She delivered an informative and inspiring presentation on the theme of
energy conservation, highlighting various practical measures that can be implemented both
at home and in schools to reduce energy wastage. Her talk included examples, visuals, and
interactive discussions that helped students understand the significance of saving energy for
environmental protection and future generations. The event was conducted under the
general coordination of Dr. Sreelatha K, Principal of MCCTE, Mahe, and the IQAC Coordinator,
Mrs. Revathy, Assistant Professor of MCCTE, Mahe, who provided valuable guidance and
supervision throughout the programme. The programme coordinator was Mrs. Suchithra,
Headmistress of GHSS Kallachi, who ensured smooth organization and active participation
from students and staff. The programme received an enthusiastic response from the
participants. It successfully instilled awareness about the importance of conserving energy
and encouraged students to take small but meaningful steps toward sustainable living. The
session concluded with a vote of thanks, marking a fruitful collaboration between the teacher
education institution and the school.
