An awareness programme on Energy Conservation was conducted on 8th October 2025 at CEBGHSS, Mahe, organized by the IQAC of Mahe Co-operative College of Teacher Education in association with the host school. The session aimed to create awareness among the 9th standard students about the importance of conserving energy and using it efficiently for a sustainable future.
The class was led by me, Ms. Neha Fathima, II Year B.Ed student of MCCTE, who served as the Resource Person. I explained the various sources of energy, the increasing global energy demand, and the urgent need to switch to renewable and eco-friendly alternatives. The students were encouraged to adopt simple daily practices like switching off lights when not in use, minimizing wastage of electricity, and preferring energy-efficient appliances.
Interactive discussions and real-life examples helped the students understand how small actions can make a big difference in protecting our planet. The session also emphasized the role of youth in spreading the message of energy conservation in their homes and community.
The programme was coordinated by Dr. Sreelatha K, Principal, MCCTE, Ms. Revathy M, Assistant Professor and IQAC Coordinator, and Ms. Reena, Headmistress of CEBGHSS. The event concluded with a collective pledge by the students to use energy wisely and contribute to building a greener and brighter future
