Electric Shock
On 17/10/2025 at 3:00 pm, I, Fathimathe Shasna, conducted an educational session on electric shock at Memunda Higher Secondary School. The session aimed to make students aware of the causes and effects of electric shock, as well as the preventive measures that can be taken to avoid accidents. I began the session by explaining how electric shocks occur, highlighting common sources such as exposed wires, faulty electrical appliances, and wet conditions. Students were encouraged to share any personal experiences or observations related to electric shocks, which made the session interactive and helped them understand the real-life importance of electrical safety.
To reinforce learning, I conducted practical demonstrations showing the correct use of electrical appliances, safe handling of wires, and the importance of using safety devices like fuses and rubber gloves. I also explained first-aid steps to be taken in case someone receives an electric shock. The students actively participated in discussions and responded to questions, showing a clear understanding of the topic. By the end of the session, students demonstrated increased awareness of electrical hazards and the measures needed to protect themselves and others, making the session highly successful in promoting safety consciousness.
