Speech Conducted on Periodic Table Day
The Chemistry Club of MCCTE, Mahe organized a Speech Session in connection with Periodic Table Day on 7 February 2025 at 10:00 a.m. in the college campus.
The programme aimed to enhance students’ understanding of the periodic table, its history, structure, and significance in the field of Chemistry. The speech highlighted the development of the periodic table from Mendeleev’s early arrangement to the modern periodic classification, emphasizing its importance as the foundation of chemical science.
The speaker discussed major trends such as atomic size, ionization energy, electronegativity, and the classification of elements into groups and periods. The session helped students connect theoretical concepts with practical applications, thereby strengthening their conceptual clarity.
Students listened attentively and engaged in a short interactive discussion following the session. The programme successfully promoted scientific curiosity and deepened appreciation for the periodic table as a key tool for understanding the behavior of elements.
The event concluded effectively, marking a meaningful observance of Periodic Table Day. The Chemistry Club expressed its intention to continue organizing informative and student-centered academic activities in the future.
