The Mathematics Club of Mahe Co-operative College of Teacher Education, Mahe, organised a Career Talk on 7 February 2025 at 10:25 AM. The programme aimed to provide student teachers with insights into career opportunities in the field of mathematics and education, and to guide them in making informed professional choices.
The session began with a welcome address by the club coordinator, who highlighted the importance of career awareness for student teachers. The invited resource person delivered an informative and inspiring talk on various career pathways available for individuals with strong mathematical backgrounds. These included teaching positions, higher studies in mathematics and education, competitive examinations, research opportunities, data analytics, and roles in educational technology.
The speaker emphasised the growing demand for mathematically skilled professionals and the value of analytical and problem-solving abilities in diverse fields. Practical guidance was provided on preparing for interviews, developing professional skills, and building confidence as future educators.
Students actively participated in the interactive session, asking questions and seeking clarity about different career options, required qualifications, and growth prospects.
