The Reading Club of MAHE Co-operative College of Teacher Education, Mahe conducted a Book Swap Programme on 20th February 2025 at 2:00 PM with the objective of promoting reading habits, encouraging sharing of knowledge, and fostering a culture of sustainable learning among students. The programme aimed to provide students with an opportunity to exchange books and discover new authors and genres.

The event began with a brief introduction explaining the concept and purpose of the book swap. Students were encouraged to bring books they had already read and exchange them with others. A wide variety of books, including novels, short stories, biographies, motivational books, academic texts, and children’s literature, were displayed for swapping.

Students enthusiastically participated in the programme, browsing through the collection, discussing books with peers, and selecting new titles based on their interests. The exchange created an interactive and lively atmosphere where students shared their reading experiences and recommendations. The activity helped students explore diverse reading materials and expand their literary exposure without any financial burden.

The Book Swap Programme also promoted the idea of reusing resources and supporting sustainable practices through sharing. Faculty members appreciated the initiative and encouraged students to continue cultivating reading as a lifelong habit.

The programme concluded with words of appreciation from the coordinators, who thanked the students for their active participation and encouraged them to take good care of the exchanged books. The Book Swap Programme was a meaningful and successful initiative, reflecting the Reading Club’s commitment to encouraging reading culture, collaboration, and sustainable learning practices among students.
