PARK CLEANING ACTIVITY

The Nature Club of MAHE Co-operative College of Teacher Education, Mahe conducted a Park Cleaning Activity on 23rd February 2025 at 10:00 AM as part of its mission to promote cleanliness, environmental responsibility, and community service among students.
The programme began with a brief introduction on the importance of maintaining clean public spaces and the role of citizens in preserving natural environments. Students were encouraged to take proactive steps in contributing to a cleaner and healthier community.
Under the supervision of faculty coordinators, students proceeded to clean the public park by engaging in various tasks such as:

Collecting plastic waste, litter, and dry leaves

Sweeping pathways and seating areas

Segregating waste into biodegradable and non-biodegradable categories

Removing weeds and clearing clogged areas around plants

Arranging dustbins and encouraging proper waste disposal practices among park visitors
The activity highlighted important environmental values such as:

Preventing harm to birds and animals caused by litter

Creating a pleasant environment for community members
Students participated actively and enthusiastically, showcasing teamwork, dedication, and a strong sense of responsibility. Their efforts led to a visibly cleaner and more welcoming park environment.
The programme concluded with a short reflection session, during which students shared their experiences and discussed ways to promote cleanliness in daily life. Coordinators encouraged participants to continue engaging in similar community-based environmental activities.
The Park Cleaning Activity was a meaningful and impactful initiative, demonstrating the Nature Club’s commitment to environmental conservation, social responsibility, and fostering eco-friendly habits among students.
