TEACHING ABOUT LOCAL HISTORY AND LANDMARK

 Teaching about Local History and Landmarks

The session on Local History and Landmarks was conducted by Amaya KV

on 1st October 2025 at 10:00 AM. The main objective of the session was to help students understand the significance of their local heritage and to create awareness about the historical and cultural importance of nearby landmarks.

During the session, students were introduced to various important sites in their locality, such as historical buildings, temples, forts, and natural landmarks. Visual aids and maps were used to make the class more engaging and informative. Students were also encouraged to share their own knowledge and experiences related to local places of importance.

The session helped students develop a sense of pride and responsibility towards preserving their local culture and history. It also enhanced their understanding of how local history contributes to the larger narrative of our nation.

Faculty development program

 

The IQAC of Mahe Co-operative College of Teacher Education, Mahe organized a One-Day Faculty Development Program on September 29, 2025, at the College Auditorium. The resource person for the program was Dr. K. S. Sajan, Assistant Professor, NSS Training College, Ottappalam, who is also a member of various academic and professional bodies including the ITEP Curriculum Committee (Kerala Higher Education Council), Ethics Committee (SCERT), Board of Studies in Education (University of Calicut), and an Executive Member of CTEF, Kerala Chapter.

The session aimed at enhancing teaching competencies, professional growth, and academic excellence among faculty members. The program was coordinated by Dr. Sreelatha K (General Coordinator) and Ms. Revathy Madhusoodanan (IQAC Coordinator. 

REMEDIAL TEACHING

 

REMEDIAL TEACHING PROGRAMME

The Internal Quality Assurance Cell (IQAC) of Mahe Cooperative College of Teacher Education (MCCTE), Mahe, in association with JNGHSS, Mahe, organized a Remedial Teaching Programme on 29 September 2025 at 3:30 PM.

The primary objective of the programme was to provide additional academic support to learners who required guidance in strengthening their foundational skills. The session aimed to address learning gaps, clarify difficult concepts, and encourage students to develop confidence in their academic performance.

The programme was coordinated by Mr. Vyas Jagadheesh, a 2nd Year English student-teacher of MCCTE, who conducted the remedial session effectively. He engaged students through simplified explanations, interactive methods, and personalized support to help them understand topics more clearly.

The programme was conducted under the leadership of:

  • Dr. Sreelatha K, Principal, MCCTE – General Coordinator

  • Ms. Revathi M, Assistant Professor, MCCTE – IQAC Coordinator

  • Ms. Sugathakumari, Headmistress, JNGHSS – Programme Coordinator

Students participated actively, seeking clarification and engaging with the lessons provided. The interactive environment helped them overcome academic difficulties and boosted their motivation to learn.

The session concluded with positive feedback from the learners, who expressed that the remedial class helped them understand challenging topics more effectively. The Remedial Teaching Programme successfully achieved its aim of supporting students’ academic improvement and promoting inclusive learning





Awareness Programme on Earthquake

 Awareness Programme on Earthquake


An Awareness Programme on “Earthquake” was organised by the IQAC of Mahe Co-operative College of Teacher Education (MCCTE) in association with Iringannur Higher Secondary School (IHSS) on 29th September 2025 at 3:15 PM in the school campus.


The main objective of the programme was to educate students about earthquakes, their causes, and the necessary safety measures to be taken before, during, and after an earthquake.


The resource person for the session was Ms. Rihana Fathima, a second-year B.Ed student of MCCTE, who presented the topic effectively with the help of visuals and real-life examples. She discussed the reasons for earthquakes, their impacts on human life and property, and demonstrated simple safety steps that can save lives during such natural disasters.


The programme was conducted under the guidance of Dr. Sreelatha K (Principal, MCCTE), Ms. Revathy M (Assistant Professor, MCCTE), and Ms. Sindhu Jayaraj (Principal, IHSS). Students actively participated in the interactive session, showing great interest and curiosity about disaster preparedness.


The session proved to be highly informative and beneficial, as it helped students gain awareness and practical knowledge on how to act safely and responsibly in case of an earthquake.


   



INCLUSIVE EDUCATION SUPPORT

 INCLUSIVE EDUCATION 

An awareness session on *Inclusive Education* was conducted on 29th September 2025 at 3:30 p.m. The session aimed to create understanding about the importance of including all children, irrespective of their abilities, in the regular classroom. The discussion focused on the principles of equality, acceptance, and support for diverse learners.

Various aspects of inclusive education were discussed, including the role of teachers, classroom strategies, and ways to provide individualized support for children with special needs. Participants actively shared their views and experiences, which made the session more interactive and informative.

The session helped to promote a positive attitude towards inclusivity and emphasized the teacher’s role in ensuring that every learner gets equal opportunities to participate and succeed. Overall, it was a meaningful and enlightening experience


     



FIRST AID AWARENESS SESSION

 A First Aid Awareness Programme was organized at KRHSS Purameri on 29th September 2025 at 3.00 pm. The session was led by the resource person Ms. Krishna Theertha B. R, who provided valuable insights into the importance of first aid in day-to-day life and emergencies.

The programme aimed at equipping students with essential knowledge and practical awareness about handling common injuries, accidents, and emergency situations effectively. The session also highlighted the significance of being calm and prepared during unexpected incidents.

The event was coordinated under the guidance of Dr. Sreelatha K, Principal MCCTE (General Co-ordinator), and Ms. Revathi M, Assistant Professor MCCTE (IQAC Co-ordinator). The school-level arrangements were managed by Ms. Shyni K, HM of KRHSS Purameri (Programme Co-ordinator).

The programme turned out to be highly informative and beneficial for the students, enabling them to gain confidence in providing timely help during emergencies

 Earthquake Awareness Programme

An Awareness Programme on Earthquake was organized by the IQAC of Mahe Co-operative College of Teacher Education in association with Iringannur Higher Secondary School on 29th September 2025 at 02:00 p.m. The session was conducted at IHSS, Iringannur.

The main objective of the programme was to create awareness among students about earthquakes, their causes, and safety measures to be taken during such natural disasters. The resource person for the session was Fathimath Hasna A.K, a Second-year B.Ed. student of MCCTE, who effectively presented the topic using visuals and real-life examples. She discussed the importance of preparedness, emergency responses, and the role of individuals in ensuring safety during earthquakes.

The session was highly informative and interactive. Students actively participated and clarified their doubts regarding safety procedures. The programme helped the students understand the significance of being aware and alert in the event of an earthquake.

The event was well-coordinated under the guidance of Dr. Sreelatha K (Principal, MCCTE) as the General Co-ordinator, Ms. Revathy M (Assistant Professor, MCCTE) as the IQAC Co-ordinator, and Ms. Sindhu Jayaraj (Principal, IHSS) as the Programme Co-ordinator.

Overall, the programme was successful in spreading awareness and promoting disaster preparedness among the students.





TEACHING ABOUT EARTHQUAKES

 As part of the school’s Disaster Management awareness programme, a special session on Earthquake Awareness was conducted to educate students about the causes, effects, and precautionary measures to be taken during an earthquake. The session aimed to build awareness and preparedness among students to respond effectively in case of such natural disasters.The class began with a brief introduction to earthquakes, explaining how they occur due to the movement of tectonic plates beneath the Earth’s surface. Visual aids and simple demonstrations were used to make the concept clear and engaging.





AWARENESS CLASS SESSION ON MENSTRUAL HYGIENE

 An Awareness Class on Menstrual Hygiene was organized by the IQAC of MAHE Co-operative College of Teacher Education, Mahe in association with Chothavoor HSS Champad on 24th October 2025 at 11:00 AM.

The session aimed to create awareness among students about the importance of maintaining menstrual hygiene and to break the myths and stigma associated with menstruation. The class was handled by ANJALI KK , a second-year B.Ed. student of MCCTE, Mahe, 

In her session, she highlighted the significance of personal hygiene during menstruation, discussed common misconceptions, and emphasized the need to treat menstruation as a natural biological process rather than a taboo subject. The interactive session encouraged open discussions and helped students gain confidence to talk about menstrual health without hesitation or shame.

STORY WRITING COMPETITION

 A story writing competition was conducted for Upper Primary and High School students by IQAC of Mahe Co-operative College of Teacher Education with GVHSS Koduvally. The event took place on September 29, 2025, at 11:15 AM. The activity was coordinated by Anusree K, Anamika CK, and Sarga, all second-year B.Ed students from MCCTE Mahe. The general coordinator was Dr. Sreelatha K (Principal), while Ms. Revathy M and Nisha (GVHSS Koduvally) were also involved as co-coordinators. The program encouraged creative writing, emphasizing that “writing is the painting of the voice”


     





POEM WRITING COMPETITION

 Poem Writing Competition

A Poem Writing Competition was conducted at Govt. Higher Secondary School, Pattiam, on 29th September 2025 (Monday) at 10:52 a.m. The event was organized to encourage students’ creativity and to enhance their poetic expression in English.

The competition was monitored by Anusree A. K (English). Students actively participated and showcased their talent by presenting original poems on various themes such as nature, friendship, and patriotism. The participants exhibited great enthusiasm, imagination, and linguistic skills.

The event provided a platform for students to express their emotions through words and rhythm. It also helped in developing their confidence and interest in literature. Overall, the programme was a successful and inspiring experience for all the participants.






CAREER GUIDANCE

 Career Guidance Report

A career guidance session was conducted to help students understand various career opportunities and the importance of choosing the right path based on their interests, skills, and aptitude. The session aimed to provide awareness about different educational streams and emerging professions in today’s world.

During the session, students were encouraged to identify their strengths and set realistic goals for their future. The resource person highlighted the importance of self-assessment, continuous learning, and developing soft skills like communication, teamwork, and problem-solving.

The session was highly interactive and informative. Students actively participated by asking questions about different career options and educational courses. Overall, the programme helped students gain clarity and motivation to plan their future careers effectively.

 INCLUSIVE EDUCATION SESSION

An inclusive education session was conducted on 29 September 2025 at 10:30 AM by a team consisting of Vijnandas K.P, Abhiram Murali K,and Archana R. The objective of the session was to create awareness among students about the importance of including all learners, regardless of their abilities, backgrounds, or differences.

During the session, students were introduced to the concept of inclusive classrooms and the significance of providing equal learning opportunities for everyone. The team explained how empathy, cooperation, and support can help all children learn together. Engaging activities and discussions were organized to help students understand the challenges faced by differently-abled peers and how to assist them.

Students actively participated in the session, shared their views, and pledged to be more supportive and understanding toward others. The session promoted acceptance, kindness, and a sense of belonging within the school community






FIRST AID SESSION-SOORYA SUGATHAN

 A First Aid session was conducted by Soorya Sugathan on 29th September 2025 at 10.30 a.m. The session aimed to create awareness about basic first aid techniques and emergency response. Participants were introduced to various first aid measures for common injuries, burns, bleeding, and fainting. Demonstrations were given on how to handle minor accidents effectively. The session was informative and helped the participants gain confidence in providing immediate care during emergencies.

A Demonstration and Awareness Class on Earthquake Preparedness was conducted by Amaya K V on 29th September 2025 at 10:15 a.m.The session aimed to create awareness among students about the causes, effects, and safety measures to be taken during an earthquake.

The programme began with a short introduction explaining what earthquakes are and how they occur due to the movement of tectonic plates. This was followed by a demonstration on “Drop, Cover and Hold”technique, which showed students how to protect themselves during tremors. Visual aids and charts were used to make the session more interactive and informative.

Students actively participated by asking questions and sharing their own ideas on disaster preparedness. The importance of emergency kits, evacuation plans, and staying calm during such situations

During the session, participants were introduced to essential first aid procedures such as handling minor injuries, treating burns, managing bleeding, and responding to emergency situations. The importance of remaining calm and acting quickly during accidents was also highlighted.

The session was informative and interactive, and the participants actively took part in the demonstrations. Overall, it was a useful and enriching experience that helped the learners gain confidence in providing first aid in real-life situations.

An Earthquake Awareness Session was conducted on 26 September 2025 at 10:00 AM by Snigdh A.V and Abhiram Murali K. The objective of the session was to educate students about earthquakes, their causes, and the safety measures to be followed during such natural disasters.

During the session, the resource persons explained how earthquakes occur and discussed the importance of preparedness. Students were introduced to key safety practices such as “Drop, Cover, and Hold,” staying away from tall structures, and moving to open spaces during an earthquake. They were also informed about emergency kits and the role of disaster management teams.

Demonstrations and visual presentations were used to help students understand the safety procedures more effectively. The session encouraged students to stay calm during emergencies and to help others when needed.

Overall, the program was informative and helped create awareness among students about earthquake safety and preparedness.

One-Day Sensitization Programme on Policies and Preventive Vigilance Measures

 The Internal Quality Assurance Cell (IQAC) of Mahe Co-operative College of Teacher Education, Mahe conducted a One-Day Sensitization Programme on Policies and Preventive Vigilance Measures on September 29, 2025 at the College Auditorium.

The session was led by Dr. K. S. Sajan, Assistant Professor, NSS Training College, Ottapalam. He explained the need for clear institutional policies, the importance of transparency in daily functioning, and various preventive vigilance practices that help maintain accountability in educational institutions.

Staff members actively participated in the session and gained a better understanding of their roles in ensuring ethical and responsible administrative procedures.

The programme was successfully coordinated by Dr. Sreelatha K, Principal, and Ms. Reshly Madhusoodanan, Assistant Professor. The event proved to be beneficial and supported the college’s ongoing efforts to strengthen quality assurance mechanisms













LIBRARY SESSION

 The Mahe Co-operative College of Teacher Education (MCCTE), Mahe, through its IQAC, organized a Library Session in association with PM SHRI Usman Government High School, Chalakkara-Mahe. The session was held on 26/09/2025 from 2:30 to 3:30 in a classroom setting.

The session was led by Ms. Malavika R and Ms. Manjima JR, a second-year B.Ed. student at MCCTE, and focused on promoting reading habits, enhancing students’ familiarity with library resources, and encouraging effective utilization of the library for learning and personal growth. The session was highly informative and interactive, inspiring students to explore books and develop a love for reading.

The event was conducted under the guidance of Dr. Sreelatha K (Principal, MCCTE) as the General Co-ordinator, Ms. Revathy M (Assistant Professor, MCCTE) as the IQAC Co-ordinator, and Mr. Muralidharan K.V(Headmaster, PM SHRI Usman Government High School) as the Programme Co-ordinator.
