MANAGING YOUR SCREEN TIME PROGRAMME

The Internal Quality Assurance Cell (IQAC) of Mahe Cooperative College of Teacher Education (MCCTE), Mahe, in association with JNGHSS, Mahe, organized a programme titled “Managing Your Screen Time” on 16 September 2025 from 2:30 PM onwards.

The objective of the programme was to help students understand the importance of maintaining a healthy digital balance in their daily lives. With increasing dependence on digital devices, the session aimed to create awareness about the negative impacts of excessive screen use and to encourage meaningful and productive engagement with digital tools.

The programme was coordinated by Mr. Vyas Jagadeesh, a 2nd Year English student-teacher of MCCTE, who explained practical strategies to reduce screen dependency, manage social media usage, and prioritize offline activities. He highlighted the importance of self-discipline, mindful usage, an

d time management in preventing digital fatigue and distraction.

The programme was conducted under the leadership of:

  • Dr. Sreelatha K, Principal, MCCTE – General Coordinator

  • Ms. Revathi M, Assistant Professor, MCCTE – IQAC Coordinator

  • Ms. Sugathakumari, Headmistress, JNGHSS – Programme Coordinator

Students actively participated in discussions and shared their own challenges regarding screen addiction. The coordinator provided simple and effective tips such as digital detox practices, limiting notifications, scheduling screen-free hours, and engaging in hobbies.

The session concluded with positive feedback from students, who found the programme insightful and relevant to their daily life. The initiative successfully promoted the message of “Less scrolling, more living!” by encouraging students to maintain a healthy balance between online and offline worlds.
