CHILDREN’S DAY IN INDIA & WORLD DIABETES DAY

 


Children’s Day is celebrated on different dates in various countries, but in India, it is observed on November 14th , coinciding with Jawaharlal Nehru’s birthday. Jawaharlal Nehru, India’s first Prime Minister, was fondly known as “Chacha Nehru” for his love and dedication to children. He believed that children are the future of the nation and advocated for their education, health, and welfare. The
significance of celebrating Children’s Day are promoting child rights and welfare, encouraging education and learning, fostering a sense of nationalism and unity and recognizing the importance of childhood development.






On the behalf of Children’s Day we the Mathematics department conducted a POSTER MAKING COMPETITON. 11 students participated and the judgement was done on 15th November 2024. The winners were Sruthi S from Biological Science department, got first prize, Rishinand and Abhiram from Social Science department, shared the second prize. Later all posters were pinned on the notice board.









WORLD DIABETES DAY

14TH NOVEMBER 2024









World Diabetes Day (WDD) is celebrated annually on November 14th. It was introduced in 1991 by the International Diabetes Federation(IDF) and the World Health Organization (WHO). The theme for WDD varies each year, but the overall focus is on:

1. Raising awareness about diabetes.
2. Promoting diabetes prevention and management.
3. Supporting people living with diabetes.
The World Diabetes Day program was conducted by Mathematics department and it was led by Anusree K K. Anusree highlighted the previous themes, the key facts of diabetes, risk factors of diabetes, prevention and management, WDD activities etc. And also talk about
the Blue Circle symbol which is the global symbol for diabetes awareness, representing unity and support .
