The Biological Science Club of MAHE Co-operative College of Teacher Education, Mahe conducted an Essay Competition on 8th November 2024 at 2:00 PM with the aim of encouraging students to think critically about biological and environmental issues, enhance their writing skills, and promote scientific awareness. The event provided a platform for students to express their ideas and perspectives on topics related to biology, ecology, and conservation.

The programme began with a brief introduction to the purpose of the competition and instructions regarding the rules, word limit, and evaluation criteria. Students were given a relevant and thought-provoking topic to write on, enabling them to apply their scientific knowledge creatively and analytically. Participants wrote essays that reflected their understanding of biological concepts, current environmental challenges, and the importance of sustainable practices.

Students showcased strong writing skills, presenting well-organized arguments supported by factual information and relevant examples. Their essays demonstrated clarity, creativity, and a genuine interest in scientific exploration. Faculty coordinators evaluated the submissions based on content accuracy, originality, coherence, language quality, and the ability to communicate scientific ideas effectively.

The competition helped students improve their research and writing abilities while deepening their awareness of important scientific themes. It also encouraged independent thinking, reflective learning, and effective communication—skills essential for academic and professional development.

The programme concluded with appreciation for all participants and recognition of the most outstanding entries.
