The Physics Club of Mahe Co-operative College of Teacher Education, Mahe, conducted an Elocution Competition on 07 November 2024 at 9:45 AM. The programme aimed to promote scientific communication skills among student teachers and to encourage them to express physics-related concepts confidently and effectively.
The event commenced with a welcome address by the club coordinator, who highlighted the value of public speaking in science education and the importance of developing clarity of thought when presenting scientific ideas. Participants were given a range of physics themes such as space technology, nuclear energy, the impact of physics on daily life, climate change, and current advancements in scientific research.
Student participants delivered articulate and well-prepared speeches, presenting their ideas with confidence, scientific accuracy, and clarity. Their speeches reflected thorough understanding, creativity, and the ability to connect physics concepts to real-world applications. The audience gained valuable insights from the topics discussed.
Faculty members served as judges and evaluated the participants based on content relevance, presentation, voice modulation, confidence, and overall delivery. Constructive feedback was provided to help students further improve their communication and oratory skills.
The programme concluded with the announcement of winners, followed by a vote of thanks expressing gratitude to the principal, faculty members, coordinators, and students for their enthusiastic participation. The competition successfully fostered scientific interest, confidence, and effective communication among the participants.
