The Social Science Club of MAHE Co-operative College of Teacher Education, Mahe observed National Constitution Day on 26th November 2024 at 10:00 AM to commemorate the adoption of the Indian Constitution and to promote awareness about constitutional values among students. The programme began with a welcome address, followed by a brief introduction highlighting the historical significance of the day and the contributions of Dr. B. R. Ambedkar, the chief architect of the Constitution.

Students and faculty gathered to participate in the reading of the Preamble, reaffirming their commitment to justice, liberty, equality, and fraternity. This collective reading served as a reminder of the guiding principles that shape India’s democratic framework. Following this, an informative talk was delivered by a faculty member, focusing on the fundamental rights, duties, and the importance of active and responsible citizenship in a democratic society.

To enhance student engagement, a short presentation was showcased on the making of the Constitution, key constitutional amendments, and the role of the Constitution in ensuring unity and integrity in the country. Students shared their reflections on constitutional values and their relevance in everyday life. The programme fostered a deeper understanding of civic responsibility and the importance of safeguarding democratic ideals.

The celebration concluded with a message encouraging students to uphold constitutional values, practise equality and respect, and contribute positively to society. The National Constitution Day observance was an insightful and educational initiative, reflecting the Social Science Club’s dedication to promoting civic awareness, democratic understanding, and national responsibility among students.
