The Mathematics Club of Mahe Co-operative College of Teacher Education, Mahe, conducted a Problem-Solving Competition on 4 April 2025 at 9:25 AM. The programme aimed to enhance students’ mathematical thinking, analytical ability, and logical reasoning through a challenging and engaging competition.

The event began with a welcome address by the club coordinator, who highlighted the importance of problem-solving skills for student teachers and their future roles in the classroom. The competition consisted of multiple rounds designed to test participants’ abilities in arithmetic, algebra, geometry, puzzles, and logical reasoning.

Students participated enthusiastically, demonstrating creativity and critical thinking while attempting the problems. The timed rounds motivated participants to apply mathematical concepts quickly and accurately. Faculty members supervised the event and ensured a fair and supportive environment for all participants.

The competition encouraged healthy academic spirit and teamwork, fostering a deeper interest in the subject. It also provided an opportunity for students to refine their strategies, practise systematic thinking, and build confidence in tackling mathematical challenges.

At the end of the event, the winners were announced and appreciated for their performance. All participants were acknowledged for their active involvement and enthusiasm.

The programme concluded with a vote of thanks, expressing gratitude to the principal, faculty coordinators, and students for their support in making the competition a successful and enriching experience.
