PICTURE DESCRIPTION ACTIVITY
The English Club of MCCTE Mahe conducted a Picture Description activity on 26 April 2025 at 2:30 PM in the college campus. The programme aimed to enhance students’ observational skills, descriptive ability, and command over English language through a visual-based learning task.
The session began with an introduction by the club coordinators, who explained the purpose of the activity and provided guidelines on how to describe visual elements effectively. Students were shown selected pictures and were asked to describe them in detail, focusing on setting, characters, actions, and possible interpretations.
Participants enthusiastically took part in the activity, presenting thoughtful and imaginative descriptions. The exercise helped improve their vocabulary, sentence formation, and confidence in public speaking. It also encouraged critical thinking and the ability to interpret images from multiple perspectives.
The programme concluded with constructive feedback from the coordinators and appreciation for all participants. The Picture Description activity successfully met its objective of promoting effective communication and visual literacy among students
