HENNA WORKSHOP
CONDUCTED BY THE ARTS CLUB OF MCCTE MAHE
The Arts Club of MCCTE, Mahe organized a Henna Workshop on 30 April 2025 at 2:00 PM in the college campus. The workshop aimed to introduce student teachers to the traditional art of henna application while enhancing their creativity, design skills, and artistic confidence.
The session began with an introduction by the resource person, who explained the significance of henna art, its cultural relevance, and the basic techniques involved in preparing cones and creating smooth, flowing designs. Participants were taught fundamental strokes, floral motifs, geometric patterns, and methods for arranging designs aesthetically on the hands.
Students actively engaged in hands-on practice, initially working on practice sheets and later applying designs on hand models. The workshop encouraged patience, precision, and innovation, allowing participants to explore their personal style while learning essential techniques.
Throughout the session, the resource person provided individual guidance, helping students refine their patterns and improve the neatness and balance of their designs. The interactive environment made the workshop enjoyable and creatively stimulating.
The programme concluded with a brief sharing session, where participants displayed their designs and reflected on the skills they had gained. The Arts Club expressed its gratitude to the college administration, resource person, faculty members, and students for their support in making the workshop a success.
The Henna Workshop effectively achieved its objective of fostering artistic expression and equipping student teachers with a culturally meaningful creative skill.
