School Internship Visit
The first-year B.Ed. students visited Government Middle School Mahe as part of their School Internship Programme. The visit was conducted to provide students with practical exposure to the school environment and to familiarize them with the functioning of a government school.The internship activity took place at Mahé, Puducherry, where the students observed the infrastructure, classroom settings, and overall functioning of the school. During the visit, the student teachers interacted with the school authorities and teachers to understand the teaching–learning process, school management practices, and the daily routine followed in the institution.
The students also had the opportunity to observe classroom environments and gain insights into the methods used by teachers to engage students in learning. The visit helped them understand the practical aspects of teaching, including classroom management, student participation, and the importance of maintaining a supportive learning environment.
The school campus was well maintained, with adequate facilities for students. The presence of greenery and organized surroundings created a pleasant atmosphere for learning. The interaction with teachers and observation of school activities helped the interns connect their theoretical knowledge from the B.Ed. course with real classroom practices.
Overall, the visit to Government Middle School, Mahe was a valuable experience for the first-year B.Ed. students. It provided them with an opportunity to observe real-life teaching situations and enhanced their understanding of school functioning, thereby preparing them for their future teaching practice.
