First Year School Internship Visit

PM SHRI I. K. Kumaran Government Higher Secondary School, Pandakkal – Mahe

As part of the First Year B.Ed. School Internship Programme, a group of student teachers visited PM SHRI I. K. Kumaran Government Higher Secondary School Pandakkal Mahe. The visit was organised to provide student teachers with practical exposure to the functioning of a higher secondary school and to observe the teaching–learning process in a real classroom environment.

During the visit, the student teachers observed the infrastructure, classroom arrangements, and the academic atmosphere of the institution. The school offers education at the secondary and higher secondary levels and is affiliated with the CBSE curriculum. The institution plays an important role in providing quality education to students in the region.

The interns interacted with the teachers and school authorities to understand the organisational structure of the school, the roles and responsibilities of teachers, and the methods used for effective classroom management. They also gained insights into lesson planning, teaching strategies, and student evaluation practices followed in the school.

The visit enabled the student teachers to relate the theoretical concepts learned during their B.Ed. course with practical classroom situations. Observing the functioning of a higher secondary school helped them understand the responsibilities and challenges involved in teaching adolescent learners.

Overall, the visit to PM SHRI I. K. Kumaran Government Higher Secondary School, Pandakkal – Mahe was a valuable and enriching experience for the first-year B.Ed. students. It helped them gain practical knowledge about school administration, teaching practices, and the professional role of teachers in the education system.
