Demi-Gender Awareness Day Observation
The IQAC of MAHE Co-operative College of Teacher Education, Mahe, in collaboration with the Transgender Club, observed Demi-Gender Awareness Day by organizing an awareness session and talk on the significance of the day on 15 December 2025 at 9.00 PM through the Google Meet platform.
The programme was conducted under the general coordination of Dr. Sreelatha K, Principal, MCCTE. The IQAC coordination was efficiently managed by Mr. Arun U, Assistant Professor, MCCTE. The programme coordination was undertaken by Ms. Vismaya K K, Assistant Professor, MCCTE. The student coordinators for the programme were Ms. Shradha Sudheer T K and Ms. Gopika K.
The awareness session focused on the concept of demi-gender identity, its meaning, and its place within the broader spectrum of gender diversity. The talk emphasized the importance of understanding, inclusion, respect, and acceptance of diverse gender identities in society, especially within educational institutions.
Students and faculty members actively participated in the programme. The session created awareness about gender sensitivity and encouraged open dialogue, empathy, and respect towards individuals of all gender identities.
The programme concluded successfully with positive responses from the participants. The observation of Demi-Gender Awareness Day contributed meaningfully to promoting equality, inclusiveness, and social awareness among future educators.
