 Conduct of Maths Quiz

Mahe Co-operative College of Teacher Education, Mahe, through the Internal Quality Assurance Cell (IQAC) in collaboration with the Mathematics Club, organized a Maths Quiz on 22 December 2025 at 9.00 p.m. The programme was conducted online via Google Meet as part of activities to promote interest and aptitude in Mathematics among student teachers.

The programme began with a brief introduction explaining the objectives of the Maths Quiz, emphasizing the importance of logical thinking, numerical ability, and problem-solving skills in Mathematics education. The quiz was designed to test participants’ knowledge in basic mathematical concepts, reasoning, and application-based questions, while also encouraging active learning in an engaging manner.

Students participated enthusiastically in the quiz, which included a variety of questions aimed at enhancing analytical skills and fostering a competitive yet collaborative learning environment. The online format enabled smooth conduct of the programme and ensured active interaction among participants.

The quiz provided an opportunity for student teachers to experience innovative methods of learning Mathematics, which can be effectively adapted in classroom teaching. The programme helped motivate participants to view Mathematics as an interesting and practical subject rather than a purely theoretical one.

The programme was organized under the guidance of Dr. Sreelatha K, Principal, who served as the General Coordinator. Mr. Arun U, IQAC Coordinator, provided institutional support for the programme, and Mr. Nithinlal V, Programme Coordinator, coordinated the event effectively.

The Maths Quiz was informative and engaging, and it successfully achieved its objectives by promoting interest in Mathematics and strengthening students’ problem-solving abilities.
