Mahe Co-operative College of Teacher Education, Mahe, observed National Consumer Rights Day through an awareness session and talk organised by the Internal Quality Assurance Cell (IQAC) in collaboration with the Legal Awareness Club on 24 December 2025 at 9.00 PM via Google Meet.

The programme aimed to create awareness among student teachers about consumer rights, responsibilities, and the importance of legal literacy in everyday life. The session highlighted the fundamental rights of consumers, common consumer issues, and the role of awareness in preventing exploitation and unfair trade practices. Emphasis was laid on empowering future teachers to disseminate consumer awareness in society.

The programme was organised under the overall guidance of Dr. Sreelatha K, Principal, MCCTE, who served as the General Coordinator. The programme was effectively coordinated by Mr. Arun U, Assistant Professor, MCCTE, in his role as IQAC Coordinator, along with Mr. Harshith Rag V, Assistant Professor, MCCTE, the Programme Coordinator.

The student coordinators Shradha and Gopika K actively assisted in organising the programme and ensured smooth conduct of the online session. The programme witnessed active participation from students and faculty members, making the session interactive and informative.

The observance of National Consumer Rights Day successfully enhanced awareness about consumer protection and legal rights, reinforcing the importance of informed and responsible citizenship. The programme concluded with positive feedback from participants.
