The morning assembly was conducted by the English Department of Mahe Co-operative College of Teacher Education to mark International Translation Day. The programme began with the regular morning prayers, followed by a brief introduction to the significance of International Translation Day.
The highlight of the assembly was a speech by Ms. Athira C.V, who emphasised the importance of translation in bridging cultural and linguistic gaps across the world. She explained how translation fosters mutual understanding, promotes global unity, and preserves linguistic diversity.
To add a visual element, a colourful poster displaying greetings in multiple languages—such as Hello, Hola, Bonjour, was presented, symbolising the theme of the day. The assembly concluded with a note of appreciation for translators and interpreters who contribute to global communication and knowledge sharing.
The programme successfully created awareness among students about the value of translation in today’s interconnected world.
