The Reading Club of MAHE Co-operative College of Teacher Education, Mahe conducted Literacy Games on 3rd February 2025 at 9:30 AM with the objective of strengthening students’ language skills, improving vocabulary, enhancing comprehension, and making learning fun and interactive. The programme aimed to promote reading, writing, and thinking abilities through engaging and enjoyable activities.

The programme began with a brief introduction explaining the importance of literacy in academic and personal development. Students actively participated in various literacy-based games such as word puzzles, spelling challenges, vocabulary building activities, sentence formation, rapid reading tasks, and quiz-based language games. These activities were designed to improve cognitive skills, quick thinking, and language confidence.

Participants showed great enthusiasm and teamwork while playing the games. The activities encouraged healthy competition, cooperation, and active involvement. The programme was designed to highlight the strong connection between physical activity and mental health.

The session began with a brief introduction on the importance of martial arts in enhancing both physical and psychological health. A trained instructor guided the students through basic warm-up exercises followed by fundamental Taekwondo techniques such as stance positions, punches, blocks, and simple kicking movements. Emphasis was given on balance, coordination, focus, and controlled movements.

The Environmental Club of MAHE Co-operative College of Teacher Education, Mahe organized a “Plastic-Free Campus” Campaign on 28th January 2025 at 11:30 AM with the objective of reducing plastic usage, promoting eco-friendly alternatives, and creating a clean and sustainable learning environment.

The programme began with a welcome address followed by an awareness talk on the harmful effects of single-use plastics on the environment, wildlife, and human health. Students were encouraged to adopt responsible habits and contribute to building a plastic-free campus.

As part of the campaign, various activities were conducted, including:

  • Awareness Drive:
    Students educated peers about the environmental hazards of plastic pollution and advocated the use of cloth bags, metal bottles, and biodegradable materials.

The programme aimed to help students understand the connection between literature, storytelling, and cinematic interpretation.

The session began with a brief introduction on the purpose of the movie review and its importance in developing observation and interpretation skills. Students were encouraged to focus on various aspects of the film such as theme, plot development, character portrayal, dialogues, cinematography, background score, and overall message.

The Discipline Club of MCCTE, Mahe organized a purposeful and awareness-oriented Parent–Teacher Association (PTA) Session for the Anti-Drug Campaign on 23 January 2025 at 10:23 AM in the college campus. The programme aimed to strengthen collaboration between parents and teachers while raising awareness about the harmful effects of drug abuse and the importance of preventive measures.

The session began with a welcome address by the club coordinators, who emphasized the need for collective action in safeguarding students against substance abuse. They highlighted the role of both parents and teachers in monitoring behavioural changes, offering guidance, and creating a supportive environment that discourages risky habits.

Resource persons and faculty members delivered informative presentations on the consequences of drug use, early warning signs, psychological impacts, and the long-term health and social risks associated with addiction. Practical strategies were shared to help parents communicate effectively with their children, identify concerns early, and seek timely support.

The interactive discussion allowed parents to raise questions, share experiences, and understand the importance of collaborative vigilance. Teachers assured continued guidance and support through campus-based anti-drug initiatives and awareness programmes.

Overall, the PTA Session for the Anti-Drug Campaign was a successful and meaningful event that strengthened parent–teacher partnerships and reinforced the commitment of MCCTE, Mahe to promoting a safe, healthy, and drug-free educational environment.

 WELLNESS EVENT CONDUCTED BY EVENT MANAGEMENT CLUB OF MCCTE MAHE

The Event Management Club of MCCTE, Mahe organized a refreshing and awareness-driven Wellness Event on 22 January 2025 at 10:45 AM in the college campus. The programme aimed to promote physical and mental well-being among student-teachers and to encourage healthy lifestyle practices.

The event began with a welcome address by the club coordinators, who emphasized the importance of wellness activities in reducing stress, improving focus, and maintaining overall health. The session included various activities designed to highlight the significance of fitness, mindfulness, and self-care.

Participants engaged in guided wellness exercises such as stretching, breathing techniques, relaxation practices, and simple movements that could be incorporated into daily routines. Students also received insights on managing academic stress, maintaining work-life balance, and adopting healthy habits.

Faculty members appreciated the initiative and encouraged students to integrate wellness practices into their regular schedules. The event created a calm and positive atmosphere, fostering a collective sense of well-being and rejuvenation.
