ART HISTORY TOUR
CONDUCTED BY THE ARTS CLUB OF MCCTE MAHE
The Arts Club of MCCTE, Mahe organized an Art History Tour on 28 May 2025 at 11:00 AM with the objective of providing student teachers an opportunity to explore and understand the evolution of art, its cultural significance, and its influence on contemporary practices. The tour was designed to enrich students’ knowledge through direct observation and experiential learning.
Participants visited significant art spaces, galleries, and historical sites where they observed various styles, techniques, and artistic expressions. The coordinators offered detailed explanations on the origins of different art forms, notable artists, and the socio-cultural backgrounds that shaped various artistic movements.
Throughout the tour, students showed great enthusiasm, actively interacting with exhibits and engaging in meaningful discussions. They recorded observations, sketched notable works, and reflected on how historical art forms contribute to present-day artistic perspectives and teaching methodologies.
The programme concluded with a group reflection session where participants shared insights gained from the experience. Many expressed that the tour enhanced their appreciation for art history and provided valuable exposure for their academic and creative pursuits.
The Arts Club extended its gratitude to the college administration, faculty members, and participants for their cooperation in making the Art History Tour an educational and memorable event.
