ELOCUTION COMPETITION

The Biological Science Club of MAHE Co-operative College of Teacher Education, Mahe conducted an Elocution Competition on 6th May 2025 at 3:00 PM with the objective of enhancing students’ communication skills, promoting scientific awareness, and encouraging them to express their views on important biological and environmental issues. The event provided a platform for students to articulate their thoughts confidently and engage in meaningful public speaking.
The programme began with an introduction to the rules and purpose of the competition. Students were given scientifically relevant and thought-provoking topics related to biology, environmental conservation, health awareness, and sustainable living. Participants presented well-prepared speeches that reflected strong understanding, clarity of ideas, and effective use of scientific information.
Each speaker delivered their presentation with confidence and enthusiasm, demonstrating their ability to analyze issues and communicate them convincingly. The audience listened attentively, and the competition fostered an atmosphere of academic engagement and lively intellectual exchange. The event also helped students develop essential skills such as critical thinking, logical reasoning, and persuasive communication.
Faculty members evaluated the participants based on content accuracy, clarity of expression, confidence, organization of ideas, and overall delivery. They appreciated the students for their effort, preparation, and passion for addressing scientific themes through public speaking.
The programme concluded with words of encouragement from the coordinators, who acknowledged the impressive performances and motivated students to continue developing their communication skills and scientific awareness. The Elocution Competition was a successful and enriching initiative, reflecting the Biological Science Club’s commitment to promoting academic excellence, confidence building, and scientific literacy among students.
