CONDUCTED BY THE ARTS CLUB OF MCCTE MAHE

The Arts Club of MCCTE, Mahe organized a Calligraphy Workshop on 9 May 2025 at 11:20 AM in the college campus. The workshop aimed to introduce student teachers to the artistic craft of calligraphy and to enhance their creative expression, handwriting aesthetics, and visual presentation skills.

The session began with a brief introduction by the resource person, who explained the history, significance, and different styles of calligraphy. Participants were introduced to basic strokes, letter formations, and essential tools used in calligraphy such as nib pens, brush pens, and ink techniques.

Students actively engaged in hands-on practice sessions where they experimented with patterns, spacing, and creative layouts. The workshop encouraged participants to develop patience, concentration, and artistic confidence while refining their handwriting and design skills.

Throughout the session, the resource person provided individual guidance and demonstrated various calligraphy styles, helping students improve their techniques and artistic approach. The participants expressed great enthusiasm and interest, making the workshop lively and productive.

The programme concluded with an exhibition of the students’ written pieces and a short reflection session where participants shared their learning experiences. The Arts Club extended heartfelt thanks to the college administration, the resource person, and all participants for contributing to the success of the workshop.

The Calligraphy Workshop proved to be an enriching and inspiring experience, offering student teachers valuable creative skills that can be integrated into academic and co-curricular activities.
