WORLD POETRY DAY – POEM WRITING COMPETITION

The Drama Club of MAHE Co-operative College of Teacher Education, Mahe organized a Poem Writing Competition on 21st March 2024 at 2:00 PM in observance of World Poetry Day. The programme aimed to celebrate creative expression and encourage students to explore the beauty of poetry.

The event began with a welcome address, followed by a brief introduction on the significance of World Poetry Day and how poetry serves as a powerful medium for expressing emotions, thoughts, and cultural identity.

Students participated enthusiastically, presenting original poems on themes such as nature, life, human emotions, social issues, and personal reflections. Each participant showcased creativity, linguistic ability, imagination, and emotional depth through their writing.

The entries were evaluated by the judging panel based on:

  • Originality and creativity

  • Theme relevance

  • Language and poetic devices

  • Clarity and overall impact

The event provided a platform for budding writers to express themselves freely and develop confidence in their literary skills. The creativity and effort shown by participants were highly appreciated.

The programme concluded with the announcement of winners and words of encouragement for all participants, motivating them to continue exploring poetry and creative writing.
