REPORT ON DEBATE COMPETITION
"Mahé cooperative College of teacher education conducted a Debate competition on Theme “who defines womanity?” from 2:00 PM to 4:30 PM for the first year students as a part of women's day celebration week. The event was organized by the women's cell.
The aim of organizing debate competition was to hone the public speaking skills of the students and to train them to be articulate while expressing their thoughts and opinions. The session was the kaleidoscope of opinions, thoughts and perspective that enhanced the knowledge and understanding about the topic.
To begin with, each participant spoke their mind on the rationale for, the state of women in today's society further pointing the future. Unsurprisingly, this led to a wide spectrum of views ranging from being hopeful to being pessimistic. Some spoke about being poorly perceived positivity and doubtful future due to severe lack of proper representation, to being an achievable dream that can lead to a more equal and well representation of all.
Points presented were accepted by the spectators with cheers and claps. Some of the points even made us think about the facts. There was so much talent in the room. Arguments were made and roved. The competition was so interesting with the exchange of student's perspective by equally stating the different views of going for womanity.
