TALK ON “WOMEN AND JUSTICE: A CONSTITUTIONAL AND LEGAL PERSPECTIVE”

The Internal Quality Assurance Cell (IQAC) of Mahe Co-operative College of Teacher Education, Mahe, organised an insightful session on the theme “Women and Justice: A Constitutional and Legal Perspective” on 15 November 2025 at the College Auditorium. The programme aimed at enhancing the legal awareness of student-teachers regarding women’s rights, constitutional safeguards, and the justice mechanisms available in India.

The session began at 10:00 AM with the presence of the college principal, staff members, and students. The resource person for the session was an advocate from the District Court, Kozhikode, who delivered a highly informative and engaging talk. He discussed various constitutional provisions related to women’s rights, important legal frameworks ensuring women’s safety, and the role of the judiciary in upholding gender justice. The speaker also highlighted real-life case illustrations and encouraged students to be active promoters of gender equality.

The programme helped participants develop a deeper understanding of women’s legal protections and the significance of constitutional justice in ensuring an equitable society. It concluded with an interactive session where students clarified their doubts and shared reflections.

The event was successfully coordinated by Dr. Sreelatha K, Principal and General Co-ordinator; Mr. Arun U, IQAC Co-ordinator; and Ms. Vismaya KK, Programme Co-ordinator. Their joint efforts contributed to the smooth execution of the programme.
