TALK SESSION:
“From Plans to Power: A Women Representation and Policy Perspective”**

The Internal Quality Assurance Cell (IQAC) of Mahe Co-operative College of Teacher Education, Mahe, organised an insightful talk session titled “From Plans to Power: A Women Representation and Policy Perspective” on 22 November 2025 at 10:00 AM in the College Auditorium.
The session was led by Adv. Karayi Pradeep Kumar (LLB), Advocate, Thalassery, who served as the Resource Person for the programme. His presentation focused on the evolution of women’s representation in Indian policy frameworks and the significance of ensuring equitable participation of women in governance and decision-making processes.
Adv. Pradeep Kumar highlighted the historical challenges faced by women, the constitutional provisions supporting gender equality, and the policy measures introduced over the years to strengthen women’s participation in public life. He also discussed real-world examples, legislative reforms, and the need for continuous advocacy to ensure that women progress from planning roles to positions of actual power and influence.
The session encouraged active student participation, with attendees engaging in meaningful discussions and raising thoughtful questions on legal rights, political representation, and the current policy environment. The resource person addressed each query with clarity, enriching the students’ understanding of women-centric policies and social justice.
