Energy Conservation Awareness Activity
Date: 11 November 2025
Venue: Mahe Co-operative College of Teacher Education (MCCTE), Mahe
An Energy Conservation Awareness Activity was conducted at Mahe Co-operative College of Teacher Education as part of the institution’s efforts to promote responsible energy usage on campus. The initiative aimed to sensitize students and staff to the importance of reducing electricity consumption in classrooms and workspaces.
As part of the programme, students displayed energy-saving reminder posters in classrooms, laboratories, and common areas. The posters highlighted key practices such as switching off lights and fans when not in use, unplugging chargers and appliances after use, and turning off projectors and smart boards after class hours.
The activity encouraged students to take an active role in maintaining an energy-efficient campus environment. A student volunteer was seen affixing the awareness poster near the switchboard in the classroom, demonstrating the college’s commitment to cultivating responsible habits among the academic community.
This initiative was carried out under the guidance of faculty members in association with the Internal Quality Assurance Cell (IQAC), MCCTE. The programme successfully reinforced the message of sustainability and motivated students to contribute to conservation efforts.
