Theme: “From Trash to Treasure”

The Internal Quality Assurance Cell (IQAC) of Mahe Co-operative College of Teacher Education, Mahe, organized a creative and inspiring Art & Craft Exhibition on 17 November 2025 at 2:30 PM in the college auditorium. The exhibition, titled “From Trash to Treasure”, aimed to promote sustainable practices, creativity, and environmental awareness among student-teachers by encouraging them to transform discarded materials into artistic and functional craft pieces.

The exhibition was inaugurated under the guidance of Dr. Sreelatha K., Principal of MCCTE, who served as the General Co-ordinator for the event. In her address, she emphasized the importance of reusing and repurposing waste materials and highlighted how creativity can contribute to building an eco-conscious society.

The event was coordinated by Mr. Arun U., Assistant Professor, as the IQAC Co-ordinator, along with Mrs. Chaithanya, Assistant Professor, who served as the Programme Co-ordinator. Their collective efforts ensured the smooth organization and display of a wide range of innovative craft items.

Participants showcased an array of unique exhibits made entirely from recyclable and waste materials such as newspapers, plastic bottles, cardboard, fabric scraps, tin containers, and more. Decorative items, utility products, wall art, miniature models, and creative installations were displayed, reflecting the ingenuity and skill of the students.

The exhibition attracted enthusiastic participation from student-teachers and faculty members, who appreciated the talent and environmental consciousness demonstrated through the showcased works. The event successfully conveyed the message of sustainability and resourcefulness while offering a platform for artistic expression.

The programme concluded on a positive note, inspiring participants to continue exploring eco-friendly approaches in their future teaching and creative practices.
