The Quiz Club of MAHE Co-operative College of Teacher Education, Mahe conducted an Independence Day Quiz on 16th August 2024 at 10:30 AM to commemorate India’s Independence Day and to enhance students’ knowledge about the nation’s history, freedom struggle, and democratic values.

The programme began with a welcome address, followed by a brief introduction highlighting the importance of remembering India’s journey to freedom and the sacrifices made by national heroes. Students were encouraged to actively participate and test their understanding of India’s heritage.

Several teams participated enthusiastically in the quiz, which consisted of multiple rounds, including:

  • Freedom Movement and National Leaders

  • Indian Constitution and Governance

  • Cultural Heritage and National Symbols

  • Modern India and Current Affairs

  • Rapid-Fire Round

Participants demonstrated enthusiasm, teamwork, and quick thinking throughout the event. The quiz created a lively and engaging atmosphere, motivating students to learn more about the nation’s historical and political background.

The event was conducted smoothly under the supervision of the Quiz Club coordinators, who ensured fairness in scoring and adherence to the rules. The audience also participated by answering open questions and supporting their teams.

At the end of the competition, the winning team was announced and appreciated for their excellent performance. Certificates were awarded to recognize the efforts of all participating teams.

The programme concluded with a message emphasizing the importance of patriotism, awareness of national history, and the role of youth in contributing to the nation’s progress.

The Independence Day Quiz was an informative and enjoyable event, reaffirming the Quiz Club’s mission to promote intellectual curiosity, competitive spirit, and national awareness among students.
