MAP HUNT ACTIVITY

The Tour Club of MAHE Co-operative College of Teacher Education, Mahe conducted an exciting and interactive Map Hunt activity on 12th August 2024 at 3:30 PM with the objective of enhancing students’ geographical knowledge, map-reading skills, teamwork, and problem-solving ability. The programme was designed to make learning geography fun, engaging, and practical.
The programme began with a brief introduction explaining the rules and purpose of the Map Hunt. Students were divided into teams and provided with clues based on geographical locations, directions, map symbols, and coordinates. Each team had to carefully analyze the clues and locate the correct places on the map within the given time.
Students participated with great enthusiasm and teamwork, actively discussing directions, identifying landmarks, and solving geographical puzzles. The activity encouraged quick thinking, cooperation, leadership, and decision-making. The competitive spirit added excitement and energy to the programme while maintaining a healthy and supportive learning environment.
Faculty coordinators observed the activity and guided students wherever necessary. The participants demonstrated strong map-reading abilities and coordination within their groups. The Map Hunt helped students understand the practical importance of geography, direction sense, and spatial awareness in daily life and travel.
At the end of the activity, the winning team was appreciated for their accuracy and speed. All participants were congratulated for their active involvement and teamwork. Students shared that the programme was both fun and educational, helping them improve their geographical skills in an enjoyable way.
The programme concluded with words of appreciation from the coordinators, who encouraged students to continue participating in creative and skill-based activities. The Map Hunt Activity was a lively and meaningful initiative, reflecting the Tour Club’s commitment to promoting experiential learning, teamwork, and geographical awareness among students.
