Friendship Day, celebrated on the first Sunday of August, emphasizes the importance of friendship and its role in enriching our lives. Established to honour the bond of friendship, the day encourages people to appreciate and celebrate their friends, recognizing their support and companionship. Despite the commercialization of the day and the challenges of maintaining relationships in a fast-paced world, Friendship Day is marked by personal gestures like exchanging gifts and organizing social events. Community and social organizations also host activities that promote social bonding. Overall, Friendship Day serves as a reminder of the value of nurturing and cherishing friendships.
The program was conducted by the Mathematics department. A Friendship Wall was created and displayed on the notice board, where all students pressed their coloured thumbs in the shape of a heart and wrote their names underneath.
