Global Energy Independence Day – Electric Vehicle Demo and Awareness Programme
The Energy Club of MCCTE, Mahe organized an Electric Vehicle (EV) Demonstration and Awareness Programme in connection with Global Energy Independence Day on 10 July 2024 at 9:30 a.m. in the college campus.
The programme aimed to promote awareness about sustainable transportation, renewable energy adoption, and the importance of reducing dependence on fossil fuels. The event highlighted how electric vehicles can contribute to cleaner environments, reduced carbon emissions, and long-term energy independence.
The session began with an introduction on the significance of Global Energy Independence Day, emphasizing the global shift toward clean and efficient energy solutions. A practical demonstration of an electric vehicle was conducted, allowing students to observe its functioning, features, and energy-saving mechanisms.
Participants engaged actively in discussions about the benefits of EVs, such as lower operating costs, zero tailpipe emissions, and technological advancements in battery systems. The event also focused on the importance of adopting eco-friendly transportation methods to support global sustainability goals.
Faculty members and club coordinators ensured the smooth organization of the programme. The hands-on demonstration and awareness session enriched students’ understanding of emerging green technologies and inspired them to consider environmentally responsible choices.
