SHORT FILM REVIEW SESSION
The Drama Club of MCCTE Mahe conducted a Short Film Review Session on 26 July 2024 at 2:00 PM in the college campus. The programme aimed to enhance students’ critical thinking, cinematic appreciation, and understanding of visual storytelling techniques.
The session began with a brief introduction by the club coordinators, who explained the purpose of reviewing short films and the importance of analysing elements such as theme, plot, character development, cinematography, sound, and message. A selected short film was screened for the participants.
Following the screening, students actively took part in the review process by sharing their interpretations, observations, and critiques. They discussed the narrative structure, acting performance, camera work, editing style, and emotional impact of the film. The interactive discussion enabled students to express their viewpoints confidently while learning to appreciate various aspects of filmmaking.
The session created an engaging and reflective environment, encouraging participants to approach films from an analytical perspective rather than passive viewing.
The programme concluded with appreciation for the participants’ insightful reviews and active involvement. Overall, the Short Film Review Session was a successful and enriching activity that effectively promoted film literacy and critical analysis among students.
