Mahe Co-operative College of Teacher Education, Mahe
Date: 20 July 2024 | Time: 1:15 PM
The Physics Club of Mahe Co-operative College of Teacher Education, Mahe, conducted a Questionnaire Task titled “Meet the Astroner” on 20 July 2024 at 1:15 PM. The programme was designed to enhance students’ curiosity about space science and to improve their ability to formulate meaningful scientific questions.
The event began with a welcome address by the club coordinator, who explained the purpose of the activity and emphasised the importance of inquiry-based learning in science education. Students were encouraged to think critically about astronomy, space missions, celestial bodies, and the work of astronomers.
As part of the task, participants prepared and presented a set of questions they would ask an astronomer if given the opportunity. These questions covered a wide range of areas, including space exploration, black holes, satellites, rockets, galaxies, astrophysics, and future developments in space research. The activity helped students reflect on the wonders of the universe while strengthening their scientific thinking.
Participants presented their questions before the group, discussing why each question was important and what they hoped to learn from it. Faculty members appreciated the creativity, curiosity, and depth of thought shown by the students.
The event successfully encouraged scientific inquiry and inspired participants to explore astronomy with greater enthusiasm. It also helped them develop questioning skills essential for effective teaching and learning in science.
The programme concluded with a vote of thanks, expressing gratitude to the principal, faculty members, coordinators, and students for their active involvement in making the event meaningful and engaging.
