The Electoral Literacy Club of Mahe Co-operative College of Teacher Education, Mahe, conducted an engaging Quiz Competition on 8 January 2024 at 3:00 PM. The programme was organised with the objective of promoting electoral awareness among students and enhancing their knowledge of democratic processes.
The event began with a brief introduction by the club coordinator, highlighting the importance of electoral literacy and the need for young citizens to stay informed about the functioning of the electoral system. Students participated enthusiastically, forming teams that competed across multiple rounds focusing on topics such as the Election Commission of India, voting procedures, constitutional provisions, democratic rights, and current electoral reforms.
The quiz included warm-up, rapid-fire, and buzzer rounds, which added excitement and encouraged active participation. The competition witnessed keen involvement from all teams, and the questions stimulated critical thinking as well as teamwork.
At the end of the event, the winning team was felicitated, and all participants were appreciated for their active engagement. The programme concluded with a vote of thanks, acknowledging the support of the principal, faculty members, and students in making the event a successful and informative one.
