The Green Protocol Club of MAHE Co-operative College of Teacher Education, Mahe organized a Wildlife Photography Contest on 5th January 2024 at 11:00 AM with the aim of promoting awareness about biodiversity, encouraging students to appreciate wildlife, and inspiring conservation through visual storytelling.

The programme began with an introduction emphasizing the importance of wildlife in maintaining ecological balance and how photography serves as a powerful tool to highlight environmental issues and inspire protection of natural habitats.


1. Contest Theme and Objectives

Students were invited to capture photographs that reflected:

  • Local wildlife species

  • Birds, insects, and small animals

  • Natural habitats around the campus and community

  • Biodiversity in everyday surroundings

  • Ethical observations of wildlife behaviour

The contest aimed to build curiosity and deepen students’ connection with nature.


2. Submission and Photo Exhibition

Participants submitted their photographs, which were displayed for viewing by students and faculty. The exhibition showcased a diverse collection of images, highlighting the participants’ creativity, patience, and strong observational skills.

The photographs depicted everything from vibrant bird species to intricate insect movements, drawing attention to the beauty and diversity of local wildlife.


3. Judging Criteria

A panel of judges evaluated the entries based on:
