NATIONAL POLLUTION CONTROL DAY

 On behalf of National Pollution Control day celebrated on December 2nd Mahe Co- operative college of Teacher Education conducted a talk on the same at the morning assembly.


National Pollution Control Day is observed on December 2nd every year in India to raise awareness about the harmful effects of pollution and to honour the victims of the Bhopal Gas Tragedy.

The Bhopal Gas Tragedy occurred on December 2-3, 1984, when a toxic gas leak at the Union Carbide India Limited (UCIL) pesticide plant in Bhopal, Madhya Pradesh, killed thousands of people and left many more with chronic health issues. The tragedy highlighted the devastating effects of industrial pollution on human lives and the environment.

The theme for National Pollution Control Day 2024 is "Clean Air, Green Earth: A Step Towards Sustainable Living." It highlights the need for clean air and sustainable practices to combat environmental challenges.

Some slogans that we can take on national Pollution Control Day are: Stop polluting and start living. Prevent pollution. Protect nature. Plant trees to make our environment pollution-free. Be green, be pollution free. Go green to eliminate pollution. Reduce needs, recycle wastes, and reuse things to reduce pollution. Say loudly, 'No' to pollution.

On this Basis Anjali Jayaraj (1s year English Option) narrated a speech emphasising the role the cause the significance the prevention and how we can protect and save the environment from harmful pollution around us.
