Unicef Foundation Day is observed on December 11th every year.
This day commemorates the establishment of the United Nations International Children's Emergency Fund (UNICEF) in 1946.
UNICEF was created to provide emergency food and healthcare to children and mothers affected by World War II. Over the years, its mandate has expanded to address the long-term needs of children and women, particularly in developing countries.
International UNICEF Day was celebrated on 11th December 2024 by Mathematics Department. Hafsath E K delivered a speech on the topic importance of celebrating this day. She talked about its activity over the world that is it is providing humanitarian and developmental aid to children worldwide. Its program focus on issues such as child health, education, nutrition, and protection.
